Truly independent and nationally recognized, Truepoint Wealth Counsel was founded in 1990 as one of the region’s first fee-only firms. Since then, our focus has been creating the best personal financial advisory experience possible.

1984

Michael J. Chasnoff starts an RIA (registered investment advisor) firm with LKCD Financial.

1990

1990, Founded.

Michael embraces his entrepreneurial spirit and branches out on his own by forming Advanced Capital Strategies (precursor to Truepoint).

1994

Michael featured in Worth Magazine’s best financial advisors survey and unofficially endorsed by Jane Bryan Quinn in an article written about full disclosure for The Washington Post.

2000

2001

Truepoint (now the name of the company) expands into the area of tax services.

2003

Truepoint continues expansion of services with estate planning.

2007

Truepoint’s succession plan established, demonstrating commitment to remaining independent and 100% employee-owned.

2009

Passes $1 Billion in AUM (assets under management).

2010

2010

Truepoint launches the Women’s Wealth Counsel initiative – a community for our female clients and team members.

2015

Launch of Truepoint Institutional Advisors to offer investment advisory services to small and mid-sized endowments, foundations, nonprofits, trusts, retirement plans, and other institutional investors.

2016

Truepoint acquires RhineVest Advisors, a Cincinnati-based start-up committed to making transparent and intelligent financial management more accessible to everyone.

2019

Truepoint relocates to 9999 Carver Road.

2020

2020

Truepoint celebrates 30th anniversary (but with our team of 65 all safely working from home!).

2021

RhineVest becomes Commas, with a continued focus on thoughtful financial planning and evidence-based investing.
