Truepoint Talks: Tax & Estate Planning Opportunities in Uncertain Times

To quote Ben Franklin, “in this world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes.” While often a tricky (and sometimes emotional) subject to cover, we believe that a well-rounded plan includes robust tax and estate planning strategies that meet a client’s financial needs and support their goals and dreams. And in these uncertain times with new tax legislation (SECURE and CARES Acts) and market volatility, we’ve found some opportunities for our clients’ financial plans. Our June 23 Truepoint Talks webinar highlighted these opportunities and leading the conversation were members of Truepoint’s tax and estate teams, including Ginger Ittenbach, Tom Bentley, David Bross and John Wolfenden.

The discussion focused on new changes to inherited retirement accounts under the SECURE Act, the compelling reasons for Roth conversions and tax loss harvesting during down markets and an overview of estate tax and gifting strategies.
